| Privacy Policy AAT Australia acknowledges the importance of privacy and of safeguarding the personal information of users of our website. Any personal details provided to AAT Australia will be protected in line with the National Privacy Principles and the laws and regulations regarding such matters as are applicable in Australia.
AAT Australia will not collect or monitor any personal information about you without your consent nor will it use or disclose to others your personal details without prior authorisation unless;- it is required by the law or the courts;
- It is necessary because of the service you are using or for a service you have requested;
- To implement our terms of service; or
- To protect the rights or property of others
It is important that users of the website respect the privacy and personal details of others and abide by the User Policy. AAT Australia reserves the right to take whatever legal or other action it deems warranted against any user it deems to be in breach of User Policy.
AAT Australia will not use the website to send “spam” or other unsolicited advertising either from itself or from any commercial partner unless the user requests it or is notified that by using a service or area of the website the user may receive such advertising. However members of AAT Australia may receive from time to time advertising or other electronic material either from AAT Australia or its commercial partners as a result of their membership status with AAT Australia or is requested by the user.
AAT Australia is not responsible for any information gathered by an Advertiser nor does it have control over such information or for the policies of any advertiser. When linking to an advertised site, the user takes full responsibility for such an action and AAT Australia makes no guarantees or warrantees about the content, safety or other matters relating to advertisers sites.
AAT Australia takes precautions to safeguard and secure information we may hold on you and will attempt to keep such information up to date. You are also acknowledging that this website is a public means of communications, it should not be used for exchanges of sensitive or confidential information.
It is vitally important that all users respect each other, AAT Australia and all other persons (real or corporate). The website is not to be used for actions that could be said to be defamatory, derogative, derisive or dangerous. The use of the forums or any other areas is a privilege and should be treated as such.
Furthermore AAT Australia is a professional association and the website is an extension of that professional status. It is not a chat-line, news group or similar site, the forums are designed to discus important technical issues relating to the Institute, accounting and similar issues. Users must be mindful of such when posting on the forums or other public access areas. As a professional body representing professionals it is important that users reflect this. Any member of AAT Australia found to be in violation of these user policies may be subject to disciplinary action.
Users should also be aware that it is an offence in some countries to publish certain information such as anti-Semitic, race-hate, or blasphemous material and should be aware of religious, cultural and other sensibilities.
Use of the website is strictly on the terms that its use shall not be for an unlawful purpose or used in an illegal manner or which violates the law in any way or violates the rights of AAT Australia or any others. Nor is it to be used for commercial purposes other than those initiated by AAT Australia. Nor shall it be used as a means to advertise to others other than as agreed by AAT Australia.
Users are not permitted to use the site to post or transmit any virus, worm or other electronic forms of tampering or violence. It is a violation of the laws in Australia and other jurisdictions to undertake such activities and any such use will be reported to the necessary authorities.
The AAT Australia website is non-partisan, non-party-political and should not be used to promote party political material or to solicit political or other donations or membership. Users are free to express political view points but must respect the views of others and keep such comments in line with the purpose of the forums. The AAT Australia website may have links to various party positions and papers in relation to important matters, this is for our members to be informed of issues of importance to them and is not a reflection of AAT Australia’s views or positions in relation to such material.
While AAT Australia provides the forums as a means to discuss issues of importance, the AAT reserves the right to remove any postings for whatever reasons it desires and without informing the person or persons concerned. AAT Australia also reserves the right to bar any user it deems is not respecting the letter or spirit of these policies. AAT Australia reserves the right to monitor the use of the website by any person.

These terms of use are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the State of Victoria, Australia, and to the extent possible subject to the laws of that State.
